Am I Still Autistic?: How a Low-Functioning, Slightly Retarded Toddler Became CEO of a Multi-Million Dollar National Corporation is the topic of author John Hall who will speak at the February 13, 2012 meeting of The Orange County Aspergerss Support Group (OCASG). The meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Newport Beach.

John Hall will chronicle how he overcame autism, the pain of moving from his autistic state to the mainstream world, things he had to learn that most people take for granted, and what he accomplished against all odds. Eventually John was able to make friends, put himself through college, earn his MBA, start a successful company, and start a family! The author will also address the challenges of dealing with his sons diagnosis with autism in 2007.

With his book of the same title, John hopes to provide inspiration to many others who have been affected by autism. According to Mr. Hall, autism does not have to be a life sentence. Whether you are a parent of an autistic child, or an individual with autism, this presentation will provide fresh context on what it is like to be autistic and how anything is possible.
The February 13 OCASG meeting is open to individuals and families dealing with Aspergers Syndrome, High Functioning Autism, or PDD-NOS. There is no charge to attend the meeting.
The Orange County Aspergers Support Group (OCASG)

OCASG was founded in October 2003 by two parents seeking to provide support for local families and adults dealing with Aspergers. The organization has grown to over 900 member families throughout Orange County, and now also includes families affected by two other related disorders: High-Functioning Autism (HFA) and Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD-NOS). Monthly support group meetings for individuals and family members are held in Newport Beach and North County, often with guest speakers. Monthly social activities such as movie groups, sports activities, and laser tag encourage social integration. An online discussion board allows members to ask questions and share information. The Orange County Asperger's Support Group is a nonprofit, tax exempt 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Visit OCASG online at www.ocaspergers.org.
