Caren Zucker, the producer of Robert MacNeil’s PBS NewsHour series on Autism and John Donvan, ABC News correspondent and three-time Emmy winner, set out several years ago to tell autism stories from a wide variety of angles: the science, the legal side, the politics, the insurance dilemmas, treatments, education and so much more. In recent years, they have really dived into another fascinating and little explored aspect, and that is the history of autism.
